Is anyone else getting the wallet crippling Rock Band on friday?

I've had my preorder in for a while and am very much looking forward to getting it.

Must say I'm quite jealous! Not getting it just yet as I'm soon to move house and so my finances are all tied up.

The idea of it does appeal to me, the thing that put me off Guitar Hero was when my mate came over and demonstrated how amazing he was and how pointless it was for me to even try. On the other hand, I can wipe the floor with him on Singstar, so Rock Band would use our relative strengths, and I wouldn't get mard.

I've been thinking about getting it but i'll probably wait until I get paid to do so. The price is ridiculous though especially compared to how much it costs in America (almost half after the enchange rate) and you don't even get a wireless guitar.

Anyone know if american accessories work on EU consoles? Might be cheaper to import.

The PS3 version is fully region free and can be bought, shipped from the US and taxed for less than UK RRP. I don't know if 360 peripherals work in the UK but the disc doesn't. And it's always been a wired guitar in the box, even in America. The wireless one is sold seperately only. But the GH3 wireless guitar works with it (on 360 only, mind).

Yeah the price is mental, I recently sold my DS (as i barely used it) so that will pretty much pay for most of it.

As far as im aware, anything that is over £75 from play is sent via special delivery, so I may even get the instruments tomorrow... the game hasn't been posted yet though so it'll be properly annoying if i have the instruments and no game!

I've got my Play order in place. It's now packing. I'm not expecting to have it for the weekend, to be honest. Knowing my luck the instruments will come on Friday and the game will show up next week, since the instruments are being couriered.

I suspect it will become the staple group meet-up game of choice :)

Yeah I can see the instruments coming and then the game not arriving on friday, if that happens I'll more than likely go and buy it from a shop and just send the game back to Play. once a few have it, we'll have to have a jam over live.

For those who are interested HMV on Fargate have Rock Band set up to play upstairs. Had half an hour or so yesterday, did 4 or 5 tracks on drums and a couple on guitar. NEED!!!!!!

Ok, if it's going to be the meet up game of choice I'm definately going to have to scrape together the cash.

The house I'm moving to is detached too, so I've really no excuse for not taking advantage and wailing like an idiot at the top of my voice until 4am.

I'm convinced. Now I must convince my wife. Hmm...

HMV are selling the lot for £150 with 2100 points worth of DLC apparently which might be the best deal around in high street stores.

Thats not too bad, especially if you can get 10% off with a student discount.

I've paid around £133 for the game and band in a box pack from Play, with a 5% discount code.
